In short: this is the highest point in the Greater Atlanta area. - The "walking trail" hike is easy and very unique. The hike reminds me of an old riverbed (sleek granite, surrounded by pine trees). -Once you reach the top, you will see the whole of Georgia. Bring a light jacket when the weather gets cold. - Stone Mountain is the world's largest exposed granite. - The entire park complex is massive with a wide selection of facilities (camping, hiking, hotels, river boats, air travel). - The Confederate memorial has stone sculptures of President Jefferson Davis, General Stonewall Jackson and General Robert E. Lee. Cool. - There is even a "glue column" where you can put a lump of glue on it, like a glue wall in Seattle. Overall, hiking reminds me of a lot of things like hiking in Seoul Towers, just hoping they have a love lock to buy.
