Taihe City was originally a city built by Heman (the ancestors of the Bai people). In the twenty-five years of Tang Kaiyuan (737 AD), the Piro Pavilion of Nanmao, supported by the Tang Dynasty, captured Taihe City. The following year (AD 738) Ether City was established as the capital of Nanxun, until the fourteenth year of Tang Dali (AD 779) Nanxun Wang Yixuan Xunqian City (now the ancient city of Dali West) ended, after 42 years, Taihe City was the capital of the early Nanxun.
