We brought in 14-year-old international exchange students from Japan. Temple Square is the most popular tourist attraction in Utah. So we thought it was an important stop. We told the Japanese-speaking missionary to plan a 15-minute sightseeing tour for our atheist students. We walked to the auditorium, the shrine, and then to the visitor center on the north side, where we saw the statue of Jesus Christ and listened to the Japanese talk. He started very quiet, but ended up asking a lot of questions about God and the Mormon temple. We ended up staying for almost 3 hours. The missionaries were kind and translated the non-religious issues for us, they provided us with good souvenir suggestions and so on. The trees were lush and the flowers were blooming. There were some people in their 30s who were there to enjoy the architecture.
