The Kaiyuan Temple Tower in Dingxian County is an octagonal pavilion building (the towers built before the Yuan and Song Dynasty were in the form of a quadrangle), with strict structure and fine work. It is a taller ancient brick tower in China. It plays a role in the ancient military, which provides a physical data for studying the history of Song and Liao relations. The tower is a pagoda that integrates architectural art, Buddhist culture, calligraphy and painting art, and has an important position in the history of ancient architecture in China.
