Tiantishan Grottoes was founded in the 16th period of the East Jin Dynasty in Beiliang. It is about 1600 years old. In 1958, the local construction of the Huangyanghe Reservoir, the protective relocation of the Tiantishan Grottoes, except for the Big Buddha built in the Tang Dynasty, most of the statues and murals in the caves were moved to the Gansu Museum for preservation.
