Commonly known as the Drum Tower, also known as Jingyuan Building, located in the center of Zhangye, the intersection of East and South four streets, is the largest drum tower in the Hexi Corridor. The building was built in Mingzhengde in the past two years (1507) on a brick-packed high platform, the base is 32 meters wide, 9 meters high, and the base is more than 30 meters to the roof. The building is three-story wooden tower, moths, carved beams and painted buildings, exquisite structure, majestic shape. The base has a "ten" hole leading to the connection between East and South and four streets. Upstairs on all sides of the upper floors: the east is "Jincheng Spring Rain", the west is "Yuguan Xiaoyue", the south is "Qilian Qingxue", the north is "Juyan Ancient Mu". Now the southeast corner of the Drum Tower is suspended Tang Zhong, which is cast with copper-based alloy, exquisite craftsmanship, majestic. Zhong Gao 1.3 meters, caliber 1.15 meters, weighing 600 kilograms. The bell body is decorated with flying sky and scorpion, Xuanwu, white tiger, green dragon pattern. This clock is used for reporting time or fire alarms in ancient times.
