Gulangyu has won the honors of national 5A-level tourist attractions, national key cultural relics protection units, and China's five most beautiful urban areas. On July 8, 2017, "Gulangyu: International Historical Community" was listed on the World Heritage List, becoming the 52nd World Heritage Project in China.
