Café Trastevere Italian Restaurant Review

Little has changed in the year since we last patronized Cafe Trastevere, and that's a good thing. The menu hadn't changed much, nor had the staff. The food is perfectly prepared and reasonably priced. The setting is is cozy, and Nat King Cole and Doris Day hits fill the air (at a reasonable volume). It's a small venue and can get noisy, but don't let that slow you down...enjoy the great food and tune out the loud folks at another table. Because seating is very limited, reservations are a must. We plan to return next time we visit Orlando.

The Best Zuppa de Pesce. For $28.00 this is the best deal in town. 85% seafood 15% sauce and pasta, the way it should be. This is a small Italian restaurant. You can eat inside or out. I have only been here a few times but it is always excellent. The management and staff are not personality driven people. Don't expect a warm welcome.

I guess because I'm from New Jersey, with a wealth of good Italian restaurants, I was not expecting to find this in Orlando. Trastevere is tiny. Six tables. Trastavere has very nice upscale ambiance. Only wine and beer from the bar, no sprits. Our host, who was maitre d', waiter, etc, was excellent, but I don't recall his name... His recommendation of the fried homed ravioli to start was good, not great. However, his recommendation for the main course, pasta in vodka sauce with sliced sausage, was outstanding. This restaurant is well worth the visit.
