We turned up on a Friday and thought we would just find somewhere. We didn’t think we would get in here, as it was so swanky looking. However, the nice lady at reception, having told us that they are fully booked weeks in advance, ran after us to say that there was a table. We felt very pleased with ourselves, so went back to the hotel and got ready for dinner. We are glad we did. It is a real special occasion. The waiter was as magnificent as Basil Faulty from Faulty Towers. Witty, tall and thin. The food was a delight. Really lovely and of a quality I would normally pay twice as much for in London. Everything looked good, everything we tried was good. You are in safe hands, so just try whatever you fancy, it will all delight. I felt I had been really treated and there were all sorts of Birthday parties there. I would be happy to go for mine. So when the bill came we expected special occasion rates. Not at all. Three courses each, wine each, digestives and coffee each, with the credit card transaction, came in at £95 when I got home and checked. If I had paid that each I wouldn’t have thought any less of them. Neo-classic French might be everywhere in Paris but we would pay a lot more in London for it. I would recommend this place highly, if you are in the mood for real romance, not a naff boat tour with chicken mouse in a heart shape.
