We visited Marshal Zen Garden & went for afternoon tea and hot spring spa in one hot summer afternoon. It was the residence of Marshal Zen, who was locked up after WWII with his mistress, then concubine & then released in his late 90s. We all thought that it's a great place to be locked up, as the scene was incredible. The residence building was simple but elegant. The tea house was small and intimate. West style tea was served. The dinning room was empty when we visited, as dinner time had not start as yet. We looked at the menu and were amazed by the dishes of each set dinner that they offered. We wanted to stay for dinner, but they were fully booked. So reservation is highly recommended. We also booked hot spring spa, which is very nice, clean and good value for the price they charged. If it was a hotel, we would have stayed for couple of days, to get ourselves pampered in their spa and to enjoy the restaurant and tea house.
