Perhaps my score is unfair because I've never been a huge fan of tofu. There were many different varieties and I'm sure the quality was extremely high but I think to many people it will just be too bland unless you're very much used to eating it. The restaurant itself was extremely busy at lunchtime (so it is clearly popular) and we had to wait 40 minutes for a table, but I am glad I did try something that's an important part of Kyoto cuisine.
