A completely informal, relaxed and totally unpretentious family establishment which, precisely because of that, makes it such a great experience. If you are a culinary snob then I am afraid this place is unlikely to be for you. No edible flowers or fancy swirls on your plate to be seen here! Its appeal is a laid back friendliness but served up with fantastic quality food made from the freshest local ingredients. It has the feel of being invited guests to eat in their own home. This is a family run place - husband Robbie is the chef, while wife Britta is front of house and host. Even the owners young children play their part in bringing out some of the courses. Its just super. On our first visit we chose from the Specials menu and 2 of us - myself included - had the had beef fillet in chianti sauce. All i can say is wow! Beautifully tender and tasty and the sauce was to die for. On our second visit we shared a beautiful florentine steak. The desserts were equally delicious. Wonderful food, wonderful people, wonderful experience!

3rd time back and it has improved for us on each occasion. For us, the trip is about 45 minutes, but the food and overall experience make us keep returning. We came on a Wednesday and only 3-4 tables were occupied, this gave us more time to interact with Britta, who has definitely warmed up to us more than when we first came. It could be as simple as us learning the language more or the restaurant not being as crowded, but this was a delightful meal, with great conversation, topped off with a great deconstructed "cheesecake", which is marscapone, sweetened and whipped. Hopefully Britta shares the recipe with me so I can reconstruct at home. We had a fantastic Parmesan flan/soufflé to start. Sliced steak with truffles were spot on delicious. This is outside the main walls and the hustle bustle of the city center and worth putting on your list. Space is extremely limited, so I recommend reservations. Maybe they can find a way to add outside seating.......will return!

We will definitely go back if we ever return to Siena. The service was warm and gracious, and the food was amazing. The tiramisu was the best I have ever had!

We have been here for lunch during a day trip to Siena. The restaurant was recommended to us from a very good friend and we only can recommend it as well. The food was excellent and the service very attentive. The owner speaks German, what was very nice as we are native German speakers as well. We had pici with tomato and pork meat, carbonara with duck bacon and a tagliata di manzo with rocket salad and parmesan cheese. Everything was delicious!!! We will for sure come back when we are in Siena again!
