Ancona is not exactly a tourist magnet, the town being depressing in its own way. Finding a place to eat can be a challenge here. I recommend Rosa Cremeria both for the quality of the food and the modern ambiance. I like the orecchiette verdure which is creamy without being heavy, and loaded with great pesto. The place can get busy at lunch because it is just down the block from the law courts, and lawyers tend to flood the place. This is a good place in a town that desperately needs one.

    4/5Excellent

Really good espresso/cappuccino, very nice ice cream. We also went there for dinner and had different pasta, pizza and mussels; everything very delicious. I was quite surprised since I didn't expect good food in an ice creme parlour. Only criticism: the main course arrived almost immediately after the starter so it got a bit messy on the table and we didn't know what to eat first.

    4/5Excellent

We went there by chance with my wife. Outside the winter inside a warm welcome with the youth of the city all around eating drinking and smiling. We took a salade aa and it was wonderful. Definitely a new mandatory stop in Ancona.

    2/5Bad

Tuesday night in Ancona is not exactly bustling and we struggled to find anything open near our hotel. Wandered into the local area and found rosa open and full.... that was a good sign we thought. Seated quickly, menus swapped from Italian to English very readily. We had been talking up a steak on the walk to the resturant. The menu is quite wide ranging where you have either meat or seafood. We chose a platter of cold meats and cheeses to start with. Well presented and enough to feed us both twice over!. Service by this time was starting to be nonexistent. We sat looking at empty platter for over 25 mins. Eventually taken away and main course served up. As the steak had sold out we had both ordered mixed grill. ..... steak chicken veal and sausage was the meat content on quering what it contained. Eventually we received this course.... Both of us left most of it.... sausage was a hot dog that had been grilled...gross. The steak was so small and extremely well done ( we both like blue to rare). The chicken was ok and god only knows what the 4th piece of meat was. We had ordered roast potatoes on the side and was given chips. ... not the same thing really!! Didn't bother with dessert or coffee because we both just wanted to get out of there as soon as we possibly could. It had the potential to be an excellent meal but lack of service and highly processed meat products sorted that out!!!
