Rose and Thistle Review

Good crown of people – much more animated when regular quiz started. As a tourist I was embraced and had a good evening. Next week also had quiz and though I didn’t take part it was well attended again. Basic food but the bar was about more than that. Would not recommend to the gentile as it is what it is and some of us on tours we egt fed up with 'tourist places' and this place was not.

My husband & I have just been to this bar. Never again & I wish we hadn't even stayed & paid for our drink. Bar full of men, that is ok as is a sports bar but as I walked in was elbowed sharply by one patron at the bar, I felt on purpose. I overheard the young blonde barmaid & 2 patrons laughing and comments about me. Not older or dressed any different from most other woman my age and I make a point of having a pleasant expression on my face. Very humiliating experience. Did not think this was appropriate behaviour from staff.

Dark surroundings, so-so food and no atmosphere made this a disappointing experience that is not worth repeating.
