The restaurant was at the hotel we stayed at, Ruth Chris, so we decided to try their fun. Wow! There are cocktails of 5 - 6 Signature and 5-6 main courses, all half the price.

    I walked in a little before 3 in the afternoon and sat at the bar. I asked for a menu and the bartender gave me both the regular and the happy hour menu as it started at three and ended at seven. Half prices on the martini's and half price on the burger's and they are hunger busters cooked just the way one wants. Made it there for HH each day we were in SA. We have eaten there before with a group and the food was always outstanding along with very good service. Perfect for a group meeting during a convention especially since it is the first place one sees if they leave the convention center on the river walk level.

    Disclosure: I usually have a rule to never review a chain, just as when visiting or vacationing, I never eat at a chain. We were tired, we got in late.... It was in the hotel. The reason to break my mom-chain embargo is that I didn't know Ruth's offered a set menu option: appetizer, side, dessert and an entree, which for me was a piece of prime beef that was not the size of Texas. I was looking for quality, not quantity. Yes, it was an expensive option, but the wine was great, the filet perfectly cooked and just the size I wanted. Dessert and coffee to finish were as nice as the roasted yellow tomato bisque I started with.

    I had heard of this franchise but had never eaten here until I attended a conference at the hotel. We ate here twice, once on our own and once as a guest. I had lobster mac & cheese and a crab blt. The food was very good but the prices are just too high. Even as a guest I couldn't bring myself to order a steak. I don't see myself returning.

    I seldom order steak when I go out to eat because I grew up eating our home-grown beef. I was reminded again why I avoid steak. The filet should have been the most tender cut. It was tough and had very little flavor. Also, the place was so loud I could only visit with the people sitting next to me.
