Secret Recipe Review

Taste the Malaysian coffee restaurant in the mall, this branch is elegantly decorated, the seats are comfortable, the black coffee tastes strong, the crisp taste is suitable for me.

This is a franchise that is quite popular in this part of the world. But this franchise does not have a number of popular dishes that I would order. One of which is the Vietnamese beef ball noodle. But, this place is well known for it's pastries. For people who love cakes, this is the place to be.

I love Secret Recipe dishes. I didn't like it some 5 years ago when I tried it first (in KL) and 2nd time. But after a while, the food became much better, I don't really know why, but I am glad it has changed for the better. There are a few branches in Brunei, at the Mall, at Serusop, and several other places. I have a nice waiter who usually serves me well. I appreciate her attentiveness. Otherwise, I don't really fancy some others staff, especially when they indiscriminately just talk so loudly with their colleagues when customers are dining in the restaurants. We do not go there to hear their loud voices telling their colleagues their life stories and what appears to be accounts for some sorry events, in a language we could not understand. It is just common courtesy to talk in subdued volume when we are in a crowd. Just basic civility, and that is not too much to ask. They may own the place but customers also go there to dine, and paid for the ambience and environment. Its not a fine dining place but it is not a cheap restaurant either. It is not right for staff to be complacent about their presentations to their customers. Make the customers feel comfortable, this should still be important. However, I appreciate the corrective measures that particular staff did in order to win back my patronage. She offered her discount card upon payment for my meals, to repay for the inconvenience she had caused me while trying to enjoy my food there. I told her my mood just changed when she incessantly talked in loud voice at the back of the restaurant. It was disturbing my comfort and I could have exited if she had not stopped and apologized, so I could continue finishing my meal. I like the maturity of the Secret Recipe staffs that I have met so far, and I appreciate their professionalism. We don't have to be perfect in our undertakings, but its very important to manage these imperfections appropriately. More on food, they have lovely cakes, costly but,very delicious cakes..

The food is quite expensive but the cakes is just average. No secret inside the recipe. Lol. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Clean eating area.
