Star of wales must rate as being one If not the best Indian in Cardiff been using it for too many years to mention the service is Excellent and if you get a takeaway it's of the same quality as a sit down meal and it's excellent value for money

    5/5Outstanding

We love the S.O.W and always come here. The food is fantastic and we find all the staff helpful and pleasant. We always see the manager in the restaurant talking to the diners and he remembers them all. The food is brilliant too - the best onion bhajees we have ever had! We've been here after rugby matches, for celebrations, date nights etc. The restaurant is quaint and we love the paintings on the wall. Always kept clean and tidy. As I've said the staff do a fab job especially as they often are dealing with a full restaurant and 10/11 take away orders.

We tried this restaurant as it was fairly local and my mother who has m.s was also coming along for a birthday party. We found the decor to be a step back in time to 1975! However, the food was great, fresh and very tasty. There seemed to be a bit of a delay for drinks orders but nothing too untoward. It was value for money and we would revisit.

I don't normally dine this late in the evening but after being at a gig all night and not eating it was great to find this place on the way back to our digs! Not being from the area it was lovely to find a place open and still serving food to eat in at gone midnight. Firstly, the service was excellent and if I rated this review purely on service it would get 5 stars! Gone midnight, packed restaurant and we received food and drinks super quick! However, the food was not 5* Indian food. If I'm honest, I can't believe the reviews on here saying how great the food was! I am a bit of a "foody" and love my Indian food especially. I'm from Plymouth and I'm lucky to have 3-4 local Indian restaurants that compared to here, the food is amazing! I had a chicken madras and it was so bland..... The heat was spot on but it was all heat and no flavour. My wife had a Bhuna which was, in her words "nothing special". In short the four dishes we had for our party, it was a very flavourless curry. Naan bread was very good though. Also, the chicken was from a pre- roasted chicken. Although it was chicken breast I could tell that the bird had been cooked previously and far from freshly cooked breast. To conclude, we had a very enjoyable evening and we still had a great night and it was not ruined by a mediocre dinner. The service was great but the food not so. Would I go back? Doubt it unless there was nowhere else open. But I certainly won't be making a trip into Cardiff to visit here again......
