Chapel 1877 Review

Visited twice. First time we had a meal in bar. Nice meal, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Second time we went upstairs to restaurant. Absolutely beautiful building and conversion! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was lovely, wine very nice and not to expensive. Looking forward to next visit!!

I booked this restaurant on recommendation and it certainly delivered. The staff were attentive and friendly and drinks service was prompt with probably the best mojito I've ever had! The menu was varied but not too much choice which in my view is always better- do less better! The food was out of this world, between us we had lamb, pork, chicken and risotto dishes and we were all completely satisfied. The puddings were just as good. Highly recommend Chapel 1877!

Great place for Sunday lunch and inexpensive too! Lovely food in stunning surroundings - staff very friendly. Will certainly visit again when in Cardiff- have eaten here every visit and it never disappoints!

Came here for a quiet dinner on a busy Saturday night with my partner. We were seated in an intimate cubicle for two which was could have been romantic were it not for the fact that it was situated literally a couple of paces away from a large party of people and we could almost join in their conversation. The food was very good (steak cooked to perfection) and staff polite and attentive - too attentive for my taste as they constantly hovered around waiting to take plates/repeatedly ask if everything is ok. Would return again for a special occasion.
