Visit Washington DC for Christmas visit and spend time with family. When asked, I chose Palm from years of experience. It still offers! Big New York steak, 1/2 and 1/2 palm fries and onion rings (heaped high, delicious). Exciting time to visit all the Christmas entertainment. We sat on a large glass window on 19th Street. Good, people watching and being seen...

A US restaurant with Italian elements, the meat patties inside are very good, and there is fresh salmon. I think it is delicious. I actually added a piece in the end. The fried vegetables taste good.

The Palm restaurant in DC makes you feel right at home and delivers the same level of service during lunch as they do for dinner. If you don't want to get too full with a steak you can always try the chicken cobb salad. It is a full meal but allows you to continue working the rest of the day. It is also conveniently located nead many upscale hotels in the area.

Even though The Palm is known for its steaks, I like to go for the seafood. It is always fresh and well-prepared. The portions are huge, so a seafood appetizer and a salad for main course is plenty of food. The desserts are huge (even the smaller size). There are often many diners celebrating special events and the staff sings to each celebrant -- quite loudly -- which does get a bit annoying after a while. But the atmosphere is nice and the food good and they don't rush you out the door if you want to linger over lunch or dinner.

I booked my family here for dinner after calling to confirm a children's menu. I've eaten at other Palm restaurants and there have been kids menus. When we arrived and I asked about the children's menu I was told there were "children's options." The server said Those were a burger or chicken Parmesan. I asked the server again and she again said those were the options or I could order for the off the regular menu. After we ordered (Burger for one child and chicken parm for the other) and the food came, the server came over again to say she was just told there were other options including chicken fingers and sliders and she was sorry but she would ring them as lunch portions. What!? The manager did come over and comp one of the child friendly dishes (which was just a regular menu option). The entire senerio was strange. The food was good as it always is but I would not recommend booking if you have small children, unless you are fine with paying full price for a regular menu option.
