Tib Chay Review

My 4th visit to this restaurant. Service is efficient to functional, but the food is absolutely delicious. My favourites are Grilled Eggplant, bean curd with persicaria (fragrant knotweed) and stuffed tomatoe. And taros gruel (Che mon) as a desert. Just wonderful. Reasonable prices.

I have been at Tib Chaï (Vegetarian) old & new address many times since 2008 and always had a great experience. The strict decor welcomes monks and "obvious officials" .. It also hides on it's main wall a marvel: Paintings from Vietnamese "Ecole de Hanoï" post modern artists. ! You could also expect to listen to "Sea of Yearning" composed by Trịnh Công Sơn as this restaurant belongs to his family... He will not great you as he welcomed me in 1991 as unfortunately for Vietnam he passed away in 2001. Anything my wife has ordered was really good, but the the best things were the grilled eggplant and their Curry (Too much sugar though..) . .The service is professional and now english is spoken for those who are limited to a strange ..."Kame Hon"....! or some other sounds to say thank you!. Tib Chay is worth it even if more expensive than local vegetarian restaurants.

We had a delicious vegetarian meal here. I highly recommend coming over.

Years ago Tib Vegetarian was great but now the service is terrible, way over priced for what you get and the last time I was there the cheating motorbike attendant was trying to charge me double the price for parking which on the sign behind his head says free parking. Not a good vibe at this place anymore.
