Photos of Yuantong Temple

Yuantong Temple, located in Tonglu County, was built in the 8th year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (634) and is one of the earliest Guanyin temples in my country. It must be mentioned that it is a relatively large-scale Buddhist resort in the scenic area of two rivers and one lake (Xin'an River, Fuchun River and Qiandao Lake), and is known as Putuo in West Zhejiang. Although the Yuantong Temple is newly built, its grand scale and long history still attract pilgrims to pray for blessings and worship the Buddha. The rebuilt Zen temple has a graceful appearance in the south of the Yangtze River, with towering Buddhist temples and green valleys. It is worth mentioning that the bluestone archway standing in the direction of the main entrance of Yuantong Temple, with stacked eaves, is simple and unique; the statue of Bada King Kong guarding the gate is majestic and powerful. What is more eye-catching is the eight coiled dragon and white marble pillars in front of the Yuantong Palace, which are meticulously carved to form a majestic momentum of the sky above the clouds; the thousand-handed Guanyin Buddha statue in the Mahavira Palace is lifelike and solemn.
