Tsurumidai is the first place in the world to successfully hatch red-crowned cranes. Every winter, the red-crowned cranes fly from Siberia to the natural park in Kushiro to inhabit. Residents of Hokkaido call the red-crowned crane "the god of the wetlands" and a symbol of longevity. From November to March of the following year, it is the season of feeding red-crowned cranes, and during this period, you can observe the posture of red-crowned cranes up close. If you are lucky, you can see it in summer.
