Yulin Museum, formerly known as Yulin County Cultural Relics Management Office, was established in 1978. In June 1984, it was changed to the Yulin City Cultural Relics Management Office with the withdrawal of the county and the city, and on July 26, 1989, it was renamed the Yulin City Museum. The museum is set up by the Yulin Municipal People's Government. With the development of history and the evolution of its establishment, it has gradually become a symbolic comprehensive museum of a prefecture-level city, and it is also responsible for the protection and management of cultural relics.
