Great place to learn a bit about the history of Aki City (and Kochi Prefecture). They have a basic guide available in English.

It is a historical folk museum and the ruins of Aki Castle. It has been Mr. Aki's castle since the Kamakura period. During the time of Kazutoyo Yamanouchi, it became the castle of Mr. Goto, the chief retainer, and Mr. Goto's belongings were also exhibited in the museum.

I went by bicycle, but it was in the back of a private house. It is located at the ruins of Aki Castle. Admission is free and some people are charged. It is introduced about Yataro Iwasaki and people related to Aki City. I was the only visitor.

Art and old documents handed down to the Goto family, who was the chief retainer of the Tosa clan and owned Aki County. It remains quite organized and is well preserved and beautiful. This is spectacular.

    Original Text

At the museum built on the ruins of AKI Castle, items and materials related to local people such as Yataro Iwasaki and Ryutaro Hirota, who composed nursery rhymes such as carp streamers, are exhibited mainly. It's affordable, and if you're in a hurry, you can go around in about 30 minutes.
