Built in the era of Queen Elizabeth I, the family has lived here for 18 generations and still exists. The exterior of this exquisite 16th century manor has hardly changed, but the interior and display collections have changed tastes for four centuries. The estate is now a large area, like a large park. The trees on both sides of the boulevard have been around for two hundred years. The landscape and some of the interiors of the 06 edition of the film Pride and Prejudice were filmed here.
