Yanhecheng Great Wall

Along the river city in the Mentougou District of Beijing, in ancient times, it was a border fortress city, with heavy troops guarding it. This city is surrounded by mountains, 500 meters long, 250 meters wide from the north to the south, a very regular small city, the small city is all around the Ming Great Wall, now broken, very difficult to climb.

Located near Zhaitang, Mentougou District. It is recommended to drive by car, or you can take the bus M15 from Zhaitang. The overall feeling is average, not very distinctive. The surrounding scenery is quite good.

The city along the river in Beijing was called "Sancha (branching) village" and "Yanhekou" because of several mountain passes and shuikou. It was first called "Yanhecheng" after the city was built in the sixth year of Wanli (A.D. 1578). It is under the jurisdiction of Bauhinia Pass, one of the three gates within the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, and is one of the main strongholds leading to Beijing outside the Great Wall.
