Started a self-guided walking tour of the city of Como here. Lovely entry gate with a marble statue on the inner side of what used to be the old city fo Como.
Porta Torre, Como……
Como tower gate. Very solid structure from the out side, much more ornate from the in side. Worth a look when in the Piazza Vitoria area. Garibaldi statue just across the road.
Interesting
You have to stop here for the photo, spectacular structure if you pay attention.
Tower
Tower is the rest of the fortress walls. It is quite possible to walk and see, especially Como supercompact. But anything incredible is hardly worth expecting.
