Yuetan Nunnery was originally a large-scale Buddhist nunnery, facing south in the north and facing today’s Tongcheng Road in the east. There are four entrances: the mountain gate, the main hall, the Guanyin Hall, and the monastery. One enters the mountain gate, four rooms, the original two generals; two enters the main hall, six rooms, originally dedicated to the three Buddhas of Sakyamuni, Pharmacist, and Amitabha; three enters the Guanyin Hall, six rooms, originally dedicated to Guanyin, Manjusri, Puxian three statues Bodhisattva; four into the Taoist room, four rooms, each with wing rooms on both sides, a total of more than 30 flat-tiled houses with brick and wood structure. After that, it was gradually destroyed, the mountain gate and the main hall were changed to private residences, and the bells, drums, and inscriptions were destroyed. Many monks and nuns, including Kong, Tang, Shen, and Zhu, passed away one after another, and the monastery was demolished. Now there are only two Guanyin Halls, with Buddhist halls inside, dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, now abbot of monks and nuns. Now the gate of the nunnery faces east, the black lacquered gate is inlaid with copper rings and engraved with golden couplets, which are still shining. A pair of couplets full of Zen rhythm in front of the door - "The moonlight is bright and the Zen heart is quiet, the pool shadow is clear and the color is empty", which makes the literati stop and chant, which makes it a different kind of scenery.
