Heshui County, Hedong Stone Inscription Museum, located at No. 1 Lehe West Road, West Huabei Street, Heshui County, is the first special museum in Gansu Province with the theme of ancient stone inscription exhibition. It was built and opened to the public in 2004. The whole building is a temple imitating the Ming and Qing Han Buddhist temples. The "Wanfo Temple" is a three-way courtyard. On the central axis there are Shanmen Palace, Sanfo Palace, Daxiong Palace, Guanyin Palace. There are East and West Stele Pavilion and the Palace as soon as you enter the courtyard, the Bell and Drum Tower as soon as you enter the courtyard, and the East and West Stele Gallery as soon as you enter the courtyard. The West Cross Courtyard has Ta'erwan Song Dynasty statue stone tower, the Land Palace and the Yellow River Elephant Exhibition Hall. The three Buddha halls and the East and West temples in the courtyard were opened as the stone carving museum exhibition hall, which contained stone carving statues of the Northern Wei, Tang, Song (Jin), Yuan, Ming and Qing periods. According to the museum, the museum has more than 500 stone carving cultural relics. Among them, the single body statues of the Northern Wei period are the most famous. The stone statues of Heshui are especially prominent in the monolithic stone statues. The types can be divided into Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, disciples, Luohan, Lushi, Mountain God, etc. The sculptures are carved in early, middle and late stages. Early in the Northern Wei Dynasty, the statues were carved in a square shape, with full cheeks, deep eyes and straight nose, with ancient Indian artistic style. The middle period was the Tang and Song Dynasty period, and the statues were full-faced, with clear eyebrows and beautiful eyes, natural and dynamic. The late stage was the Ming and Qing Dynasties period, and the sculptures were also very distinctive.
