A shrine in town
Original Text
This is the shrine I found when I was walking around Kichijoji. It is a so-called "town shrine" and is not positioned as a tourist destination, but I saw some people worshiping, so I think it is loved locally.
Sekimae Hachiman Shrine is said to have been built in 1678 (Kanbun 12) when the surrounding Sekimae Village opened. It is built next to Hachimanzan Enmeiji Temple (it seems that it became a shrine due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism in the Meiji era). It is a small shrine. There is a big sacred tree behind the torii gate.
It is a shrine next to Enmeiji Temple. Located along the Itsukaichi Highway, the quiet precincts are impressive. It feels like a shrine in a town, and it's good.
It is a shrine facing the Itsukaichi Kaido. It is said to be the guardian of the former Sekimae Village, which was built in the year of Kanbun 12 (1672). At the entrance of the shrine, there was a stone torii gate and a wooden torii gate, and when you go down the approach, there was a shrine in front of you. The third day of New Year went to the day, but it was quiet with few visitors.

A beautiful shrine.
I visited on a walk course. It is a very beautiful shrine. It has an atmosphere of a sacred place. Also visit.

It was quiet even on New Year's Day.
