    Nothing left.

    Original Text

Built in 1616 and abandoned in 1868. Nagaoka Station is located on the site of Honmaru. There is nothing left to make you feel the castle, and only a stone monument of "Nagaoka Castle Ruins" and "Nagaoka Castle Ninomaru Ruins" stands in the square of Aore Nagaoka.

There was no shadow of the old castle or the sight.

    Original Text

Nagaoka Castle is the base of the Nagaoka domain, which was a domain of the Ougoe domain alliance, which was brave with the Aizu domain during the Tokugawa Restoration War, but now there is no trace and no remnants can be found. The former Honmaru was located at Nagaoka Station, and the cultural facility of the city, "Aore Nagaoka", was located at the place where Ninomaru was located. Only the old maps provided to miss the walls of the sky deck leading from the station to Aore and the monument of the castle built on the site of Ninomaru are available at that time. ...

I visited the site of Nagaoka Castle Ninomaru. It was in the square in front of Aore Nagaoka. It is recommended because there are several tourist spots in the area and it is just a short walk from the station.

There was a monument to the Ninomaru and a pillar to display the remains of the Honmaru.

    Original Text

It fell in the Boshin War, burned down, abandoned in the Meiji era, and there is no trace now, but the remains of the main enclosure have a display pillar near the Nagaoka station square, and the remains of Ninomaru are the city hall Plaza "Aore Nagaoka". There was a monument in a corner of the square. It seems that there was no castle tower and the turret played its role, and there is a map of Nagaoka Castle New Year's Day climbing on the entrance wall from Nagaoka Station to the underground road, and I think it is probably the state of the castle at that time. In the back of the monument, there is Inari Jinja shrine in the castle, and Nagaoka Jo castle has a legend built by the teachings of the white fox, and ...

There was a monument in front of Nagaoka station.

    Original Text

In the Boshin War, the Nagaoka domain led by Tsugunosuke Kawai fought fiercely with the Satsumacho army, and probably because he was hated by Satsumacho, there were no castle ruins at all, and there was a large Nagaoka station in the place where the main enclosure was. There was only a stone monument of "Honmaru Ruins" and a stone wall monument where the bus rotary in front of the station was located.
