A day in Gusu, revisiting the old places!
Traveling from Wuxi to Suzhou, this time I chose to stay in the old city area, which is closer to various attractions, making dining, lodging, and transportation very convenient. The small city and small scenes are full of life! The old city area of Suzhou has largely maintained its original appearance, with no high-rise buildings, white walls and black tiles, small bridges over flowing water, and an antique charm!
A day in Gusu, in the morning, visit the Lion Grove Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, and Suzhou Museum together, and in the afternoon, go to Tiger Hill, Maple Bridge/Cold Mountain Temple, and Lingering Garden for a tour.
The Lion Grove Garden is one of the four famous gardens in Suzhou, and the most famous feature is the lake rockery, where the rocks resemble lions, forming a 'forest of lions'!
The Humble Administrator's Garden is ranked first among the four famous gardens in China and is a model of classical gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. It is famous for its long history, natural style, and elegant scenery.
The Suzhou Museum was originally established in 1960 at the site of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Loyalty King's Mansion. In 2006, the Suzhou Museum designed by I.M. Pei was completed. The new museum combines traditional Suzhou architectural style with modern minimalist architectural features, looking both classical and elegant as well as fresh and beautiful!
'The foremost scenic spot in the land south of the Yangtze River,' they say, is Tiger Hill. The most famous attractions of Tiger Hill are the Tiger Hill Pagoda and the Sword Pool. The Tiger Hill Pagoda is the world's second most leaning tower and has a history of over a thousand years. This seven-story, eight-sided tower is 47.7 meters tall and leans towards the northeast. The top of the tower is 2.34 meters off-center, with a maximum inclination of 3 degrees and 59 minutes, and the Tiger Hill Pagoda is also known as 'China's Leaning Tower of Pisa.' From above, the Sword Pool resembles a flat-lying sword and is the most mysterious place in Tiger Hill, with many legends surrounding it.
'Moon sets, crows cry, frost fills the sky; Maple trees and fishermen's lights face my sleepless sorrow. Outside Gusu city, Cold Mountain Temple, midnight bell reaches the passenger boat.' This timeless quatrain has made the famous Cold Mountain Temple in Gusu. Once one of China's ten famous temples, the temple has many ancient relics, including the stone inscription of Zhang Ji's poem 'Mooring by Maple Bridge at Night,' stone carvings of Hanshan and Shide, fragments of inscriptions written by Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin, and outside the temple, the ancient Maple Bridge.
The Lingering Garden is one of the four famous gardens in China, a large classical private garden representing the Qing Dynasty style. The garden is known for its architectural art, with spacious and magnificent halls, courtyards full of changes, and an irregular layout that integrates garden buildings with mountains, water, and rocks to create a natural charm, truly unique!
interesting place with a pagoda and very huge serene and peaceful gardens. you could see the difference in the preserved part of the gardens vs a modern garden at the exit
Don't say that this time I came to Suzhou, I personally think that Huqiu is the most worthwhile attraction. Maybe my personal preferences are different, but I must recommend it here. Huqiu must come. It belongs to a comprehensive attraction and will not only be a garden.
It is said on the Internet that the two-way choice, the person who is going, must meet the right person. So to a certain extent, the people who go here are people who have this unique appreciation for beauty. You also hurry up and play
Huqiu is lush, wild and quiet, halfway through the mountain, it is worth a visit to WTF, almost by those in order to show a different network red, blogger, short video to the ditch, they will always despise the public, Huqiu may not be suitable for like to soak in the bar, the network red punching filter party, each has a good, it doesn't matter, But there is no need to force bad reviews. If you are looking for a journey of historical precipitation, don't believe that it is not a leaning tower. Tiger Hill has a primitive quiet and wild beauty, a winding path away from the hustle and bustle, and a kind of self-cultivation beauty. Although the iconic building of Huqiu is a leaning tower, do not ignore its historical and cultural precipitation and lush mountains and forests, and there are traces of Kangxi and Qianlong South patrol sites.
Yunyan Temple Pagoda is also called Huqiu Pagoda. It is the second largest leaning tower in the world. In the scenic spot, the introduction said that it is tilted north to east, but standing in front of the tower can see the obvious tilt, and it feels more than. The Yongcui Mountain Villa in the scenic area is the only garden in Suzhou without water systems. The entire Huqiu Scenic Area is a perfect blend of human history and natural landscape. If you have something to do, you can play for two or three hours. After exiting the south exit of the scenic spot, you can take a boat to the east and go straight to Shantang Street for 50 yuan.
Huqiu is worth visiting. It is much larger than the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Lion Forest. Although it is a weekend, it is not crowded, but the tower and the forest are really nothing special. There is no recognition. Nanning is basically the same, and it looks better and cheaper, and the spirit is more beautiful. But there is a small pavilion and pavilion at the exit.
Going on May 4, get up early and catch up for a night. Because the distance of the hotel and the reverse bus ride, it was a waste of time. After arriving, it was more than 11 o'clock and went shopping for more than two hours. I have learned the historical legends of trying sword stones, stone pillows, thousands of people's stones, and other caves. Checked in China's "Leaning Tower of Pisa". There are fewer people on this day and the environment is good. A store near the exit ate noodles and charged the electricity for free, which eased the dilemma of insufficient mobile phone power.
