If you like the background of the end of the Edo period, you may be interested in it. It seems to be the family temple of Oguri Uenosuke. Personally, I like Japanese history, but honestly I didn't know much about Oguri Uenosuke. I visited with a relative who likes Japanese history, but it's a pity that the location is a little inconvenient even though it's in Takasaki city.
When I looked in advance, I learned that public transportation from central Takasaki was not good and headed by car. I'm not very interested in history, but I'm glad I visited. Oguri Uenosuke is familiar to historical enthusiasts. This Tozenji Temple is a temple of the Soto sect, which has a deep connection with the Oguri family. There is also a detailed relic hall on the premises, which was perfect for deepening knowledge.
It is the family temple of Oguri Uenosuke, a senior vassal of the Shogunate at the end of the Edo period. The museum is very substantial, and if you like history, you won't get tired of it even if you have time. Since it is the former Kurabuchi Village area, it takes nearly an hour by car from the center of Takasaki City. There are buses, but the number is small, so I think it is difficult to access without a car.
The family temple of Oguri Ueno no Suke at the end of the Edo period

It is the family temple of Oguri Uenosuke, the magistrate of the Edo period. Oguri is known as a Shogun's vassal, such as building a Yokosuka Steel Works, but after the fall of the Shogunate, he was killed by the new government army immediately after he started living in seclusion in the area where his territory was located. A tomb festival is also held mainly by the priest, who is also known as a researcher in Oguri. Although it is "Takasaki City", it is quite far from the city because it is an area where the place that was "Kurabuchi Village" was merged.
