It's Different
Located on a column in the centre of Porta do Sol, it is impossible not to see this work as you walk along the street. It's made of stainless steel and represents a mermaid, or merman. I'm not sure ...
It is different and obviously intended to be that way by an artist who does interesting work. Sadly its location does not show its size and it gets lost in the average buildings behind.
Not a fan. Sculpted by Galician artist Francisco Leiro in 1991, it represents a merman; though it is one of the symbols of modern Vigo, it doesn't do justice to the otherwise appealing city.
Fear, repugnant and deforming, but there is something in "The Sirene" that is pleased and generates compassion
Original Text
On two 11 metres high, sparkled black marble columns, this bizarre sculpture of stainless steel is seated. Unable, "The siren" constantly sneak the river of Vigo.

Interesting sculpture
This 11 meter tall - half man, half fish (A siren) - sculpture made of aluminium is located in Praza Porta do Sol in the center of Vigo. Interesting.
Very Different And Gets Lost Amid The Buildings

One of the Uglier Public Works of Memory
