Yongjing in Gansu boasts the most beautiful riverbank of the Yellow River—The Three Bends of the Yellow River
When you think of the Northwest, do images of vast Gobi deserts and swirling sandstorms come to mind? Or perhaps the solitary smoke rising from the desert, accompanied by the sound of camel bells?
How many people know that in Yongjing, a remote small town in the Northwest, there is an artificial lake covering an area of 130 square kilometers, which possesses the most beautiful riverbank in the Northwest, resembling a fairy-tale paradise.
The Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese nation, flows through Yongjing for 107 kilometers. In the 1960s, the state built three hydropower stations here: Liujiaxia, Yanguoxia, and Bapanxia, resulting in the formation of three high gorges and flat lakes. The Three Bends of the Yellow River are located on the shore of Bingling Lake among them.
The ebb and flow of the tide have created the long and winding riverbank of the Three Bends of the Yellow River, and the changing sunlight adds infinite colors to it.
Some may feel that missing the summer sun and breeze means settling for a lesser view of the Three Bends of the Yellow River in other seasons.
In fact, the Three Bends of the Yellow River have their unique beauty throughout the four seasons! Even in the cold winter, nature still endows it with enchanting colors, and the tranquil riverside, together with the homely atmosphere of the riverside homes, forms a beautiful picture.
In the evening, wisps of cooking smoke rise from the riverside villages, and the villages built along the river against the mountains light up with twinkling lights. The mist, cooking smoke, lights, and the distant sounds of cattle and sheep singing, children playing, make one feel as if they have traveled through time and returned to the hometown of their childhood.
Here, far from the poetic seclusion of the city, here, the simple and warm everyday life, allows your soul to find its way home.
Please remember her, the Three Bends of the Yellow River, the most beautiful riverbank in the Northwest.
Liujiaxia is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, which is a canyon landscape formed by flowing water. The altitude is between 1560-2851 meters. It is one of the three gorges of the Yellow River. The rock formation gradually deepens and widens under the erosion of flowing water, and the water flow in the open and flat area slows down and gathers into a lake. The widest part is about 5900 meters, the length is about 26100 meters: mainly by the Yellow River water supply, the average flow rate is 877 cubic meters/sec.
Liujiaxia, who has wanted to see for many years, finally came in August this year. This is the big cockroach built in the upper 50s of the Yellow River for power generation. It is also a good place for tourism. There are several highlights. One: the reservoir big cockroach, two: Qianling Lake, three: Qianling Temple, four: Reservoir observation deck, there is no less to play here. All are superb, be sure to take a boat to see the convergence of the Yellow River and the Li River.
Near the Liujiaxia Dam in Yongjing County, Gansu Province, is the intersection of the Yellow River and the Luohe River, forming the famous "Huanglu Interchange" landscape, which is known as the Erlong Opera Pearl. Standing on the viewing platform at the top of the mountain, overlooking the intersection of Huangqi, you can clearly see a "Y" glyph dividing line, which is amazing: the water of the Yellow River is yellow and turbid, and the water of the Yellow River is clear blue. In addition, there is a stone island at the intersection of Huangqi, which resembles a giant turtle and is therefore known by locals as the "Yellow River Emperor". The existence of this stone island makes the whole landscape more vivid and interesting.
The Huangjiaxia Reservoir Observation Deck has a great view. Liujiaxia Reservoir speedboat tours the scenery on both sides of the Straits. Many people come here to see the Huangjiaxia Interchange, the Longhui World River Landscape Belt, and the clear river water gradually merges and flows forward.
There is a intersection of the Yellow River and the Luo River. It is very interesting. The charge is very low. The parking fee is 10 yuan. The shoe cover is 6 yuan. There is a glass observation deck on the top. The following is the Grand Canyon. The three canyons meet the Yellow River.
