In the Zhoushan Islands of Zhejiang Province, there is a saying that "Qingxi Temple Lake, Bodhisattva wears panties". The "Bodhisattva" here refers to the Caibogong on the Miaozi Lake Island in Putuo's east pole. Caibogong was originally named Chen Caifu, an ordinary fisherman in Hui'an, Fujian, during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. Chen Caifu saw that Miaozi Lake harbor could avoid the waves, so he lived on this island and lived by picking up conch. Whenever storm or fog, he set fire on the mountain, guiding passing fishing boats to avoid the wind. Until death. In honor of him, he built such a temple for his children and grandchildren to worship him. Today, this place has become a patriotic education base in Dongji Town, Putuo District.
