Tiger Mountain (also known as Tiger Boy Mountain or Tiger Head Mountain) is located in Tai'an Township, Miaoli County. At 1492 meters above sea level, it is the highest of the "Shuiyun Three Stars" (a group of three famous mountain ranges in China), renowned for its majestic and steep shape, earning it the reputation of "Dabajian Mountain, a mid-level mountain." The Tiger Mountain trail is of moderate difficulty. The initial section is gentle, while the latter part features steep rope slopes requiring both hands and feet to climb, making it quite challenging and suitable for experienced hikers. A round trip typically takes 4-5 hours, making it a popular mid-level mountain route. It is on par with Henglong Mountain and Niaozui Mountain, with Tiger Mountain ranking first due to its highest elevation. Its shape closely resembles Dabajian Mountain, boasting magnificent scenery and earning it the title of "Dabajian of mid-level mountains." The trail features pristine forests, including the Shuiyun Waterfall. From the viewpoints, one can enjoy panoramic views of the Xuejian Mountain Range and the Dabajian Peaks. The scenery is particularly beautiful during the tung blossom season.
