THB Gran Playa - Adults Only

The gran playa is the perfect hotel for a very relaxed holiday for couples, friends and families with adult children. This hotel would not suit folks who are looking for the clubbing/party scene. There is a vast mix of nationalities amongst the hotel guests and I am happy to say that all the guests mixed well with one another. The rooms have decent air con, comfy beds and a fridge which is free to use for your bottles of water. The food and drink is brilliant and I would recommend the all inclusive package (it includes cocktails!) The location of the hotel is perfect, the beach is less than a 5 minute walk. Most local bars and shops are closed by 11pm so there is not much outside noise pollution. All the staff are fantastic, they offer perfect customer service and you feel very welcomed to the hotel. The hotel is modern and very clean. There are different singing acts three times a week that are booked by the hotel. My only minor issue is that the labelling of the food in the buffet restaurant could be better, the english descriptions are either vague, inaccurate or are not available. The kitchen staff struggled to explain the food when asked, however using google translate for the Spanish on the labels did help. I would happily book this hotel again next year!

Really enjoyed our stay here, very laid back and we paid a bargain price through Easyjet Holidays. However, we were offered a room upgrade on arrival for €90, which we took. We were there in the last week of the season so things were winding down but the staff were very helpful and attentive. The entertainment guy Kuba was such a nice guy and although we weren't around for the entertainment, apart from our first night, he always made a point of coming and taking to us when he saw us. The pool was chilly as expected for October but large and useable, no fighting for sunbeds here, there are plenty! The room was OK but needed some refurbing, especially the door which was in bad condition, but I expect these issues will be addressed during the winter closedown. It's about a 10-12 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants so maybe a bit further than some people would want, but was OK for us. The included breakfast was fairly good, no real complaints but may not be so good if you're fussy! The evening buffet was €20 each which is probably a bit more than we wanted to pay but we made sure we had plenty. Wine and water need to be paid for on top. Drink and food prices on site are quite expensive so you may want to get some supplies from a shop.
Grupotel Los Príncipes & Spa

The breakfast type is super and there is a private beach just next to the beach in Muro Beach. The price of this hotel is better than that of Parma. The quality of the hotel is better than that of the ordinary room. Good service restaurant recommended

My favourite hotel - had another super holiday in my happy place. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. There is always a good selection of food. Love the adult only pool area. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. The entertainment is brilliant. I can't wait to be back again in June 24.

I’m writing as I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews in recent months and they scared me prior to our holiday. So some balance… The hotel is in a wonderful location right on a quiet part of the long beach. There are sun loungers on the beach. The pool is perfect with more than enough chairs and loungers for all. The bar food at the pool is great. The main restaurant food is very very good. Fresh and varied each day. The staff are all lovely and super well drilled. You can tell this is a really well run hotel. The spa is also spot on. The room we stayed in over looked the sea and was perfect. The problem is the building urgently needs money spending on it. Everywhere you go there are little niggles. Paint. Lights. Wear and tear. Don’t look at the ceilings…. This isn’t what you’d expect from a 5* but the reviews saying it makes this a terrible hotel are wrong IMHO. Firstly it’s still a very grand well designed hotel. If you can handle the fact that they need to spend some money on renovations it’s otherwise perfect for a relaxing family holiday. If you expect perfection (and why not because it’s not cheap) then best to go somewhere else. But will that perfect new hotel have such a good relaxed atmosphere and perfect location?
Prinsotel la Dorada -

Spent four nights at Prinsotel La Dorada beginning of April. We stayed in two bedroom suite on the ground floor and everything was fine until we used the shower for the first time and it flooded the bathroom within couple of minutes. We reported it to reception and immediately an engineer came around to fix the problem ( at least we thought it was fixed). All good. [To add, we later found out all our ”neighbours” had also complained on their first day about the blocked drainage. So the hotel was fully aware there was an issue already] On the following day, we came back to our room only to find everyone on the ground floor panicking, running around, trying to figure out what was happening. Six suites on the ground floor had flooded. Water was pouring out to the corridor. Not ideal but these things can happen. But it's the way it was dealt with by the hotel that was rather disappointing. There was only ONE cleaner available to clean up the whole floor, so we all had to just stand around the corridor for number of hours until the rooms were cleaned and bleached. The hotel was fully booked so they were not able to move us to other rooms - but in any case, I'd have at least expected an apology from the management team for what had happened and check in to see how we were doing. There was none of that. Later on when we asked the reception if we can start using the bathroom again, we were told ”you can, but at your own risk. Please use the facility at the spa”. I would go back to Prinsotel in the future (food, swimming pools, evening shows were all good), but I will be saying no to the ground floor rooms, for sure!
