Every winter, the Wuliang Mountain of Nanjian County in Dali become “lost in time”.Each year in early December, the winter cherry blossoms of cherry blossoms valley in Wuliang Mountain bloom brilliantly among the tea mountains. A fascinating wonderland is created by the large clumps of cherry blossom forests in the enchanting morning mist.Wuliang Mountain’s cherry blossoms valley was originally a tea garden, where several cherry trees were grown by chance.When the cherry blossoms came into full bloom, the owner of the tea garden realized that it was beautiful, and hence, he cultivated a large quantity of cherry blossoms.A few years later, the cherry trees not only provide shade for the tea trees in summer, but became a mesmerizing scenic winter spot for visitors.

Between spring and summer every year, Huadian Dam in Cangshan will be filled with pink rhododendron cherry blossoms. It covers more than 20 miles and converges into a sea of flowers.When you walk in the sea of pink, you can also see white bean flowers, Chinese peony flowers and other colorful flowers. The scenery is colorful and charming.You can traverse the full 40km of Huadian Dam on foot, and there are two alternative routes. You can choose to enter Xizhou and leave from Zhoucheng, or vice versa. It can be completed in two days by people with normal physical strength.Set out from Xizhou on the first day and walk about 20km on foot. The road is relatively smooth, so you can admire the flowers and take photos by the side of the road. Stay overnight at the pharmaceutical plant, which is the only recharging spot. The next day, head towards Zhoucheng from the pharmaceutical plant through the Xiao Huadian Dam. The scenery is especially beautiful, and the mountains are covered with alpine rhododendrons and rhododendron cherry blossoms.

Located between Weishan Ancient City and Dali, Zhuomulang is a simple Yi ethnic village hidden deep in the mountains.In the preserved historical Yi ethnic village, the most eye-catching items of Zhuomulang are the colorful costumes donned by the local ladies. The costumes donned by the Zhuomulang ladies are all adorned by a variety of flower clusters, which can be described as a “a garden in spring”.The Yi costume of the Zhuomulang is said to be a relic of the Nanzhao court, and the Yi ladies of Zhuomulang have to prepare more than 20 sets of clothes, more than 30 skirts and dozens of embroidered shoes before marriage. Almost all the clothes are made by their mothers, and the ladies of the Zhuomulang have spent almost their whole life embroidering expertly with their needles.In addition to the stunning beauty of the Yi costumes, Zhuomulang also has a unique charm in their “dage”, a form of dancing accompanied by singing.Local people call “tage” as “dage” and it is called “Ahke” in the Yi language. Every time a marriage, funeral, relocation, birthday party, or a lively temple fair takes place, there is always a “dage”.

Mount Jizu is located east of Erhai, and is named for its shape like a chicken foot.It is said that this is the preaching ground of Śākyamuni’s great disciple, Bodhisattva Kasyapa, and the birthplace of Zen Buddhism.Every year, many Buddhist devotees come for pilgrimage, climbing from Zhusheng Temple at the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain.Jinding Temple, the tallest temple in Mount Jizu, stands in the form of a 13-story hollow, square-walled brick tower –– Lingyan Pagoda. It is the tallest structure in the whole mountain. Unfortunately, ascending the tower has not been allowed in recent years.When the weather is good, you can admire Cangshan Erhai in the distance from Jinding Temple.

The Dali climate is mild and humid, and flowers bloom all year round; with the sea of flowers in Yinqiao Town being the best.Someone once said, “If you can't go to Provence, you can visit Yinqiao Bridge in Dali.No matter which season, the endless sea of flowers is no less than Provence.”Yinqiao Town is located north of Dali Ancient City. It is renowned for its rich variety of flowers, and for having flowers that are in full bloom all year round.Here, you can see the pink-and-white Galsang flower, the purple lavender flowers, the gold-colored coreopsis flowers, the red-and-blue-sage flowers. Whatever color you name, you will have it.

Located in Eryuan County, Dali Prefecture, Dali Direguo is a tourist scenic area characterized by its hot springs bathing culture.Direguo Park is surrounded by beautiful scenery, north to Cibi Lake, west to Cangshan. Besides enjoying the hot springs, you can also admire the delightful surrounding mountain and rural landscapes.Entering Direguo, the center of the park is a large pool of nearly 30 meters in diameter and 4m in depth, with water temperatures reportedly reaching 88 degrees.There are 32 open-air hot spring pools scattered around the large bubbling pot. You can experience different pleasures in the nourishing pool, medicinal pool, milk pool and fish therapy pool, etc.Direguo has many Baipho-style courtyards, all of which are made of earthy brick and stone structures, with whitewashed walls, adding to the area's ethnic flavor.Each yard has a separate hot spring pool, with its lush gardens and elegant surroundings.If you have plenty of time to spare, you can stay in the yard and enjoy a relatively private hot spring experience.

Peach Valley is located on Xiaocen Peak, among the 19 peaks of Cangshan, and is named after the crystal clear peach river in the valley.There are numerous hectares of Cangshan snow tea planted here that is aged 50 years and above. Visitors are able to not only enjoy tea in peace in the Mocui Tea House in the valley, but also experience tea picking and tea-making activities from March to October each year.Peach Valley is adjacent to Chongsheng Temple. Looking out from the window of the tea house, you can overlook the three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple and the ancient city.A 15-minute walk along the path beside the tea garden leads to a scenic waterfall. The water that rushes down from the waterfall is clear and fresh, with a sweet, crisp taste.
