We have been wonderfully taken care of by the staff in this hotel. The staff especially behind the coffee bar, Zahir, Thomas, Kamilla and many of the friendly faces that greet us each morning have made coming here an added bonus. They are always on hand to greet and add their own unique special touches to our days. They are a credit to a hotel that is fairly new yet has established itself as a firm favourite of mine. Thank you for your hosting

Strolling through London in the rain, Piccadilly circus tube station is just a few minutes' walk away, and Chinatown is just a few hundred meters away.

Handy location for Excel - which is about 10 mins walk away Car park on site - not massive but good number of spaces - the parking payment is per 24 hrs. Make sure you enter the correct car reg etc at reception Good friendly welcome at the desk and a good room in the hotel. No noise from outside but a bit of noise from inside with noisey guests talking in the corridor a few times on saturday night. Only got the room key card to work in 1 of the 2 lifts and gave up in the end and used the stairs - its not clear why you would secure the lifts with key cards but not the stair well ? Good room - air con and a nice big bed and shower. Not much round and about for eating on a saturday night so had a pizza at the hotel bar - it was quite big ordered a 4 cheese pizza but was more like a cheese and tomato - pretty plain and ordinary - not brilliant value for money. Overall I would definately use this hotel again.

As usual, by Hilton chain always maintain their valuable standard items. The room is with good size reading arm chair, nice wooden edge desk and comfortable chair. Right beside the hotel, you can have a nice long walk along the famous river, the Thames.

Very satisfied with a hotel, worthy of this price. When I made a mistake at the time of booking, I saw that the room information showed that the facilities for the disabled were provided, and I didn’t think about it. I found that it was a special room for the disabled. It was really embarrassing. . . Before the check-in, the hotel contacted me via Ctrip and asked me about my check-in time. My answer may arrive at noon, which will be far earlier than the hotel's check-in time. The reply will be arranged according to the situation on the day. On the day of the check-in, we arrived at the hotel around 11:00 and they were all ready. Thank you very much! The hotel was originally remodeled by the bank and opened only last year, new and atmospheric. There are seven or eight restaurants in the hotel lobby, and the taste is comprehensive. Geographically, it is located in the downtown area, walking close to the hotels around the Thames, and next to the subway station. The decor of the room is completely classic British style, the details are carefully polished, very special and very like. There are no less than 20 kinds of bath products, which is extremely luxurious. I saw a comment on the book saying that the sound of the music downstairs was noisy, but the actual experience was completely unrecognizable. The sound insulation of the window was well done. The sound of the door next door was noisy. This may be the only fly in the ointment.

The faucet in the bath is particularly difficult to open, and the window cannot be opened, but everything else is fine breakfast is good It is said to be an airport hotel, but in fact it is still half an hour's taxi ride away from the airport
Aptel East

We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my daughters 40th, we stayed on the 5th floor, we had room 30 which had a dodgy door so make sure it’s closed properly if you stay in it, the room was advertised as a city view but all we could see was the royal London hospital, my daughter had room 33 which you could see the shard from, just so your aware if your paying extra for the view it’s not really worth it, anyway to the good points of which there were many, check in was very quick and easy, you will need a £50 refundable deposit upon arrival, the reception staff were all very helpful and friendly, the room was very modern and we had plenty of space, the bed was comfy and we never heard any noise from anywhere during our stay, the rooms are a little sp**** and clinical, a few pictures on the walls would make a huge difference but didn’t in any way affect our stay, the area itself isn’t the best, lots of shops that were wholesale only, all shuttered up on a night with lots of graffiti on them, if you leave the apartments and turn right you come to the Castle pub, we went in here for a drink but the music wasn’t to our liking so left after one, if you keep to the left where the street splits at the Castle it’s like a different world, new buildings all very nice and clean, this way takes you towards the Tower Hill tube station which we used as we called into the Goodman’s field (Wetherspoons) for a breakfast to start the day, there are closer tube stations to the Aptel though, we would stay here again but it’s a little too far out for me, but don’t hesitate if your thinking of booking it, you won’t be disappointed
Hampton by Hilton London Park Royal

I was unsure what experience I would have from reading the mixed reviews for this hotel. But I wanted a hotel that wasn't too far from Heathrow, and easily accessible to the Underground and reasonable price (other Hilton properties on or near LHR are either pricey, not great reviews, or require taxi/car to get to them). I was pleasantly pleased with this hotel. Walking up to it from the Underground (very short walk), it looks old and unimpressive. But when you enter the lobby, it is clean, modern and comfortable looking. Front desk staff were polite and friendly as were other staff I passed in the halls. The room was quite comfortable, and I personally thought the beds were on par with Hampton in the US - comfy, but not overly soft (I prefer softer, but that rarely happens in a hotel). Bathroom was small, but typical for UK and shower was very nice. Breakfast was good - I didn't go at peak time, but when I went, everything was warm, well stocked, fresh looking and large selection (more than I see in a typical US Hampton property). I can't say how this would be for many nights, but if you want a cheaper hotel right off the Tube, this is a good choice for sure.
The Dilly

The Dilly was probably amazing in the 1980's and 1990's but not much has been updated since then! We stayed in a Dilly Classic room which was perfectly fine, a good size, clean with strong Wifi. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. I know some people on this site weren't impressed by the breakfast but I thought it was great. Obviously, the location is fabulous. However, I didn't feel the room was up to five-star standard. The coffee was instant and the milk small UHT cartons. There was no fridge or mini-bar (though we were in the 'cheapest' room so may be different elsewhere). The toiletries were cheap and basic (so bring your own), there was no plug by the bed to charge devices overnight and no Blu-tooth speaker which seems to be a given now in higher-end hotels. The style of the room itself was quite dated including the landline next to the toilet which I'm sure was incredibly cool in 1986 :) Overall, if this was a three-or-four-star hotel I'd give it full marks, but as it's a five-star, (and more importantly charging five-star prices), it's lacking in some areas. I believe the hotel is currently 'between owners' which makes sense, as I guess the current owners don't want to invest and are ticking along until the new ones take over. It's not dreadful by any means, but they charge a lot for what you get.
