Very pleased overall with the renting experience, it exceeded my expectations. Buying insurance option from Trip.com gave us peace of mind. Picking car was wonderful, the lady at the counter took us through, nobhardbselling extras, helped to photo dings and scratches, even ones we might miss. On return (another city) we arrived 30 minutes early and waited for an hour for anyone at the airport counter to appear. There was a laptop and a purse laying in the open, but the lady clerk never appeared. We were nervous about missing the plane and asked other rental agency in the next window what to do. She told us just to open the gate and drive the car in, and to leave the key right in the counter, which we did. Total self-service!
A little disconcerning since anyone could just reach over the counter, take a key. But I guess they could also take a nice Dell laptop left on the counter by clerk.So, I guess, it's just that people feel safe and secure and not afraid of thieves,
