🛡️ Empowerment Self-Defense Workshop at The Karma House 🛡️ Join us on Saturday, October 13th from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM for an interactive and empowering self-defense workshop led by two incredible instructors, Kayla Berry and Krista Hanley, from We Are Safer Together. 🌟 About the Instructors: Kayla Berry (she/her) is a certified empowerment self-defense instructor with 5 years of experience teaching safety, self-defense, and violence prevention to people of all abilities. She brings expertise from her work with We Are Safer Together and the Denver Office of Emergency Management.Krista Hanley (she/her) is a writer, speaker, and self-defense instructor with over 10 years of experience. As a survivor of the Columbine High School tragedy, Krista channels her experiences into trauma-informed violence prevention programs that promote safety, personal empowerment, and healing.💪 What You’ll Learn: Through interactive exercises, physical activities, and role-playing scenarios, you’ll gain valuable skills such as: Confidence in recognizing and interrupting potential violenceBoundary setting and de-escalation techniquesEmergency response skills and quick decision-makingBuilding resilience and trauma recoveryLeadership development and community buildingThis workshop is designed for all abilities and is trauma-informed, ensuring that everyone feels safe and supported. 🗓️ When: Saturday, October 13th, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
