Get together to discuss H. M Long's epic pirate fantasy "Black Tide Son" over drinks! Each month we read a fantasy novel by a local author. Join us at Ludology Boardgame Cafe in St Catharines as we discuss what we've read this month! Included in your registration fee is a pint of beer, a glass of wine, or a feature cocktail based on what we've read this month. Food and bar service will be available during the event. Our May book is Black Tide Son by H. M. Long, the second book in epic pirate fantasy series The Winter Sea . This book club is hosted by Lock Street Brewing Company at Ludology Cafe downtown St Catharines. Our goal with this book club is to provide venue for people to unwind, make new friends, and discuss fantasy novels while highlighting our talented local authors. She is a long time DIY producer who’s released multiple albums independently, as well as on Blue Fog Recordings and ZBTFD. She’s shared the stage with artists including Michael Hurley, Rick White and The Sadies, Marisa Anderson, and Bry Webb. For her performance for Niagara Classics she’ll be joined onstage by her partner and creative collaborator Roan Bateman . https://eiynsof.bandcamp.com/ Alex Ring is a local musician, born in St. Catharines. He continues to live here with his young family, working as an elementary school teacher with the DSBN. His principal instrument is the violin, playing solo and with local collective The Northern Arm, as well as bass guitar in Frontwards. As a solo artist, he primarily plays the violin with other sound sources, including sine-wave oscillators, guitar, etc. His recorded music involves manipulation of found sources, along with “traditional” instrumentation.
