Every year, numerous renowned and bestselling authors from around the world gather at the Hamburg Port Literature Festival to read the season's most anticipated literary works. Since 2008, over 200,000 visitors have annually flocked to more than 30 different locations in Hamburg Port to enjoy the finest literary offerings. Hamburg has long been a creative haven for many authors, including Arno Schmidt, Lenz, Giordano, and Heinrich. As the ideal backdrop for the festival, the Harbourfront Literature Festival attracts writers from home and abroad each year, and their readings draw audiences from across the country and beyond. This year's festival comprises numerous readings and lectures, spanning several weeks and held at multiple locations. This year's comprehensive and diverse program includes 82 literary events at 31 locations, many focusing on children's and young adult literature.
