The events will be held in downtown Steamboat Springs, specifically on Lincoln Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets. Registration for the Horse Events, including Ski Joring, Street Slalom, Donkey Jump, and Shovel Race, will open on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at 10:00 am (MST). For Non-Horse Events, registration can be done on the day of the event itself. Check-in for all events will take place at 7th and Lincoln, outside 720 Fusion. To participate in any of the events, a Winter Carnival Button is required for entry and spectating. You can purchase a Winter Carnival Button for $15.00 to show your support for the Winter Carnival and the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. Please note that children can only compete in ONE event throughout the weekend. Join the SheJumps Junior Ski Patrol at Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, CO on February 11th. This one-day camp is designed for intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders between the ages of 8 and 14. All women, girls, transgender individuals, cisgender individuals, and non-binary people are welcome to participate. During the camp, participants will have the opportunity to work closely with the local ski patrol community to learn about mountain safety and first aid. The camp is structured as a full-day experience, with participants being split into teams based on their skill level and rotating through various stations. Topics covered include first aid, avalanche control, snow science, weather stations, avalanche rescue techniques, and more. Lunch is not provided, so participants should bring their own or bring money to purchase lunch. The day will conclude with certificates and check-out at 3:30pm. Participants are required to bring their own ski or snowboard equipment, wear warm layers, and have a valid ski pass. Scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance.
