The 3rd Annual Stone Ridge Christian Summer Basketball Camp is set to take place at Stone Ridge Christian High School in Merced. Head of Basketball Operations, Tyler Rogers, along with the dedicated staff, will lead the camp on June 22nd and 23rd, 2024. Coach Rogers brings a wealth of experience, having led teams to victories in Section Championships and state playoff games. Participants can expect age-appropriate fundamental instruction focused on essential skills such as ball handling, shooting form, footwork, finishing, and defensive techniques. Each day will conclude with scrimmage sessions and the opportunity to win awards. The event is priced at $50 for attendance on both days, with a single-day ticket available for $25. To ensure a quality experience, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, as the camp will be limited in size due to gym capacity. Families are advised to register promptly and arrive 20 minutes before their designated session. Participate in the Gentle Giants 5k & One Mile event, held in Irvine Lake area on June 23, 2024. This event aims to raise funds for Gentle Giants, a local dog rescue organization dedicated to saving large breed dogs from euthanasia. You can choose to run or walk either the 5k or One Mile route, either in person or virtually. Gentle Giants Training Refuge, a 501c3 organization, ensures that all donations are tax deductible. A suggested entry fee of $20 per runner will support the cause. The event kicks off at 7:30 am for the 5k and at 8:00 am for the One Mile run. Participants can park along Beechwood and the school soccer fields. Virtual runners are encouraged to share their progress on Strava and/or Instagram by tagging the event.
