From late March to early April, approximately 900 cherry trees of 10 varieties, primarily Somei Yoshino and Shidare cherry, will reach their peak viewing period. During the "Nagoya Castle Cherry Blossom Festival" held from March 20th to April 5th, extended opening hours will allow visitors to enjoy the dreamy nighttime cherry blossom scenery with the castle tower as a backdrop. Other exciting activities include viewing the "Cherry Blossom and Pheasant" sliding door paintings, stage performances, and matchlock gun demonstrations, all perfect for the cherry blossom season. This year, the annual cherry blossom light show will once again be held, allowing you to appreciate Nagoya Castle in a different atmosphere than during the day. To coincide with the Doll Festival, symbolizing the arrival of spring, we will be exhibiting Hina dolls passed down through the Owari Tokugawa family from the Edo period to the present day. The Yu-style Hina dolls owned by Edo-era princesses, along with exquisite Hina doll accessories—miniature wedding items—are elegant works showcasing the status of a feudal lord family. Please enjoy this beautiful Hina doll exhibition, featuring Hina dolls belonging to three generations of concubines of the Owari Tokugawa family from the Meiji to Showa periods, as well as items brimming with spring joy. In addition, there are Yu-style Hina dolls dressed in formal attire, collected by Teitokuin Norihime, wife of the fourteenth head of the Owari Tokugawa family, Yoshikatsu.

The “Takashi Yanase Exhibition: Life is a Game of Joy” is the first major traveling exhibition dedicated to celebrating the life and multifaceted work of Takashi Yanase (1919-2013), the beloved creator of Japan’s enduring children’s hero, Anpanman. Yanase was a consummate entertainer who embraced roles as a manga artist, poet, illustrator, designer, and editor, embodying his life philosophy that “bringing joy to others was life’s greatest pleasure.”

A cherry blossom festival is held at Tsurumai Park, where approximately 750 cherry trees, including the Somei Yoshino variety, are in full bloom. Tsurumai Park is a representative cherry blossom spot in Nagoya and is listed as one of the "100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots," attracting many visitors every year. During the festival, there are stalls and mobile food trucks, as well as various activities such as displays and sales of cut flowers cultivated in the Tokai region. From 6 PM to 10 PM daily, the cherry blossoms are illuminated at night, offering a beautiful and dreamy view of the cherry blossoms.

The cherry blossom trees lining both banks of the Arakawa River are in full bloom, a sight not to be missed. During the blooming season, weekends will feature cherry blossom concerts, workshops, food trucks, and other events suitable for all ages. The cherry blossom trees will be illuminated from 6 PM to 9 PM during the event! This year, a nighttime food truck event called "Night Cherry Blossom Food Stroll" will be held, operating from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM on March 28th (Saturday), 29th (Sunday), April 4th (Saturday), and 5th (Sunday).

This tour, titled "BLAZE THE WAY," symbolizes forging a new path with blazing passion. The latest installment of the "Too Good Exhibition" series, focusing on the hidden kindness in everyday life, and the new "Slightly Understandable Exhibition," designed to allow visitors to experience moments of "half-understanding" in daily life, will be held simultaneously in five cities across Japan (including Nagoya). "Too Good Exhibition 2026" will showcase the life story of a person named "Masao," allowing visitors to relive moments of "Masao's" excessive kindness and evoking memories of "Masaos" in their lives. "Slightly Understandable Exhibition" will present numerous works focusing on those events you keep deep in your heart, events you've never shared with others, events that you only vaguely understand.

In early spring, from late February to early April, plum blossoms, peach blossoms, and cherry blossoms bloom in Tokugawa Garden. The blooming flowers and various activities welcome visitors to witness the arrival of spring. Furthermore, Sunday, March 15th, is the founding day of Tokugawa Garden, and admission is free on that day. Tokugawa Garden is a traditional Japanese garden featuring a covered pond, a style commonly used in the gardens of feudal lords during the Edo period. Clear streams cascade down waterfalls from the valley, flowing into a pond resembling the sea, symbolically showcasing the natural scenery of Japan. In addition, Tokugawa Garden cleverly utilizes the undulating terrain and existing forests, and features a rockery made of massive stones, symbolizing the bravery and fearlessness of the samurai society. Throughout the year, you can enjoy lush greenery, vibrant autumn foliage, and blooming peonies and irises here.
