We are excited to announce the return of the Research that Benefits Gibraltar (RTBG) conference for its third edition! RTBG 2025 will highlight the remarkable work of our PhD Students, Faculty, and Adjunct Researchers, covering a diverse array of disciplines and topics that enhance our community and elevate Gibraltar’s academic profile on a global scale. This year’s conference will feature four thematic blocks: Marine Science, Environmental Science, Health Science, and Business, Management, and Law. Within each block, PhD students, Adjunct Researchers, and Faculty members will deliver concise 10-minute presentations. As a special highlight, we are pleased to present a longer, 30-minute Beacon Professor lecture by Professor David Abulafia to close the conference. All our talks aim to promote positive and sustainable changes in our community while informing the local audience about the research driving this progress. Welcome to Count Me In - Turning DEIB Words into Actions! Join us at PwC Gibraltar in the Main Street for a powerful in-person event where we will delve into the world of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. DEIB is a topic on everyone’s lips as businesses and other organisations attempt to embrace the many opportunities and challenges which the subject raises. Although many leaders are enthusiastic about engaging with these, this is often accompanied by a lack of knowledge about how to adopt these values as well as a nervousness about getting it wrong.​ We started hosting our DEIB conferences on the back of our Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) conferences (Ethical Gambling Forum) so that we could drill down into the specific issues around DEIB experienced by many organisations across many sectors around the world. Part of the problem was that there were too many ‘talking shops’ on the subject but not enough practical advice and guidance so that people could take action. So now we bring together a diverse range of experts as well as hands-on expertise to the broad range of individuals and organisations who attend our events. No speeches, no pressure, just real conversations that matter to you. Entry is free with no need to book, but registering is encouraged. The IMA helps make sure citizens can continue to live in the UK and Gibraltar, working, studying, and raising their families as they did before the UK left the EU. We have two key duties which are to monitor and promote the rights set out for citizens in law.
