This workshop is inspired by the thought-provoking exhibition Brent Harris: Surrender & Catch, featuring Brent Harris' artworks that explore themes of the body, desire, faith, and childhood memories. Through engaging with these artworks, you will learn intuitive writing techniques that bypass your internal critic and censor, unlocking a state of creative flow and new ways of knowing. Discover the power of stream-of-consciousness writing practices that will allow you to tap into ancient and archetypal patterns within yourself and the world around you. By learning different ways of seeing, you will gain deep and surprising perspectives on nature and culture, while also overcoming any writer's block that may be holding you back. Maya Ward, an experienced writer and teacher, has developed this workshop based on her extensive research into neuroscience-informed techniques for unlocking creativity. Her memoir, The Comfort of Water: A River Pilgrimage, has been widely acclaimed and her writing has been featured in various publications. Your ticket includes entry to the Brent Harris: Surrender & Catch exhibition, as well as a notebook, pen, and refreshments.
