On the contrary to European cities, built with time and centuries of history, this city was built with an enormous injection of money, at an impressive speed and with a vision to become a unique world destination. It has comfort, culture, luxury and entertainment for different lifestyles, artificial landscapes and ultra-modern constructions that impress and enchant.

To Dubai: documents, travel requirements, and COVID-19 restriction for travellers

Even before booking your flight, make sure you prepare all the documentation and testing to enter Dubai – particularly all requirements related to COVID-19.

Travellers with an EU passport can travel Dubai carrying only their passport, without the need for a visa and stay up to 90 days.

When travelling to Dubai, keep in mind that, like other countries, the UAE change regulations according to developments of COVID-19.

A negative COVID-19 PCR test is requested. It needs to be taken within 72 hours before the flight and be presented before boarding. Quarantine – private or government-assisted – will be imposed for travellers that test positive.

In Dubai: Etiquette and customs

While Dubai is a modern city with a melting pot of influences, it holds some customs and etiquette standards linked to the Muslim religion. Travellers should be aware of some of these customs to get along with locals and enjoy a pleasant trip in Dubai.

Dress considerately whenever in public. Avoid short, overly tight clothing and revealing items if possible to respect the tradition of some locals. Affection manifestation should also be kept discreet and minimal, so no kissing or extreme displays. Swearing and rude gesturing are not allowed and can lead to punishment such as fines.

While drinking is allowed in Dubai for non-Muslim visitors and residents, excessive drinking in public is not accepted.

When it comes to shaking hands, let the other person to the first move to avoid awkwardness.

Avoid controversial conversation topics, including religion, and politics.

Understand the calendar to book your Dubai trip

Although Dubai’s high season is during the months of January, November, and December, if you’re planning a Dubai trip and have the choice of time of year, we recommend reserving it for either April or September. These are the months of sunny weather without the extremely high temperatures between May and August - when temperatures rise to levels that may feel uncomfortable to a European tourist, hence the drop in fares and hotel prices.
